New Clothes

Did you know that when you obey the gospel and come out of the waters of baptism you have put on Christ?

It’s symbolic of removing old, dirty clothing of sin and unrighteousness and emerging dressed in new clothes of righteousness.

“For you are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus. And all who have been united with Christ in baptism have put on Christ, like putting on new clothes” (Galatians 3:26-27).

“Put on your new nature, created to be like God–truly righteous and holy.” (Ephesians 4:24)

“Clothe yourself with the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ.” (Romans 13:14)

“Because He is risen, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ.” (Romans13:14)

“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.” (Colossians 3:12)

“I will greatly rejoice in the Lord; my soul shall exult in my God, for He has clothed me with the garments of salvation; He has covered me with the robe of righteousness.” (Isaiah:10)

Isaiah 61 speaks of the blessings that come to God’s people if they are faithful to Him.

The first three verses offer good news that brings healing and freedom to the broken hearted and assures that the Lord will comfort all who mourn and give them a crown of beauty instead of ashes and splendid new clothes instead of despair.

Sisters, clearly, we are called to discard our dirty sinful clothes.

But Jesus loves us way too much to leave us unclothed.

He provides brand new outfits for us and all we have to do is accept them and wear them.

We must, however, never forget it is Christ we wear through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Simply put, wearing Jesus means surrendering our lives to Him and allowing Him to take control of our lives as we follow Him and obey His commands.

Wearing Christ means living our lives in such a way that reflects his character and His Love.

Don’t we love new clothes?

Maybe it’s time to update our wardrobe.

Good Morning,

The traditions of men have caused havoc to would-be believers of the Gospel of Jesus Christ! Because of their ignorance and a lack of Bible study coupled with disobedience, people spend an eternity separated from the love of God in Hell.

Blessed people who repent and adhere to obeying the commands of God lead a life of assurance. They are an eternal part of God’s family forever and ever because they believe Jesus Christ died on the cross for their sins.

1 John 5:11-13 (NIV)

” And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not life. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.”
